Project 30: 30 shows before I’m 30

Interval Ice Cream is part of a mission I’ve set myself. Following in the footsteps of a friend (check out her great blog over at I’ve put together a list of 30 things that I want to achieve before I turn 30. At the ripe old age of 27 at the time of writing, I have approximately 33 months to complete my goals.

Why? Because I’ve realised lately that unless I set myself these deadlines I find myself meandering through life. And with such rigid pressures on my day-to-day routine (long story…) that’s not good enough.

Throughout the months I’ll be documenting my progress on this blog. But of course the important one to take note of here is number four – to see 30 new plays or musicals before I turn 30. Starting now. The only rule is that I can’t have seen that production of the show beforehand. Sounds like a lot? It is, but then nobody said this was going to be easy.

So with a clean slate, show number one will be Made in Dagenham – check out my review going live on 1st November.

  1. Have a picnic in Central Park
  2. Fly in Club World
  3. Write a book
  4. See 30 new musicals or plays at the theatre
  5. See some Shakespeare at The Globe (this will count towards point number four)
  6. Take my family for dinner
  7. Go wine tasting with my dad
  8. Buy flowers for my mum
  9. Go out for drinks with my sister
  10. Host a party
  11. Do something generous every month
  12. Live in London
  13. Have a spontaneous weekend away
  14. Delete my Facebook account
  15. Go up a membership level at National Theatre
  16. Be able to say I’m happy with my body
  17. Make friends with a stranger
  18. Be on trend
  19. Relive my youth with a Buffy Marathon
  20. Go on holiday with friends
  21. Give up chocolate for good
  22. Read 30 books
  23. Learn the Footloose dance
  24. Raise money for a charity
  25. Find more time for friends
  26. Visit at least one new country
  27. Have a vegetable garden
  28. Create art that I’m proud enough of to hang up
  29. Go to Wimbledon
  30. Decide where and who I want to be at 35
